On the morning of Tuesday, August 16, 2022, William H. Hundley, affectionately known as Bill, passed away in Charlotte, NC.
A long-time resident of both Dale City and Fredericksburg, VA, Bill was very active in the community. He was the beloved husband and best friend of Karen Reaves Hundley; married for nearly 57 years.
He was also a dedicated and doting father to three children, William D. Hundley (Caitlyn), Donna Hundley and Kenton Reaves Hundley. He is also survived by five grandchildren whom he adored, Kennedy, Lily, Maya, Jada, and Liam; and a loving sister Sarah Watkins Cunningham.
Understanding the impact Sickle Cell Disease has, especially in black and brown communities, Bill wanted to leave behind the spirit of giving for a cause he believed in. He has several family members who carry the sickle cell trait and have been impacted by the disease.
Continuing to research for a cure, as well as support those directly impacted by sickle cell is important, however can’t be done without the financial support needed.
Therefore in lieu of flowers, “In Honor Of” donations can be made to the Sickle Cell Disease Foundation.
