Sickle Cell Disease Awareness Month

September is National Sickle Cell Awareness Month

September is National Sickle Cell Awareness Month, designated by Congress to help focus attention on the need for research and treatment of sickle cell disease. While living with sickle cell disease is year-round, it is a time to recognize the perseverance of people living with sickle cell disease (SCD) and to recommit ourselves to improving the quality of life and health outcomes for all individuals living with SCD.
